The Academy for Innovation in Medical Education (AIME), proudly promoting scholarship and innovation in medical education since 2005.
Through her vision, passion and dedication to forming the academy of education and supporting both scholars and scholarship in medical education, the late Dr. Meridith Marks (1962-2012) founded AIME in 2005 in the University of Ottawa’s Faculty of Medicine. Since then, we have continued to honour her work and carry out her vision by promoting innovation and scholarship in medical education through a variety of programs, including our Annual Medical Education Day. In 2014, AIME found a new home in the recently created Department of Innovation in Medical Education (DIME) along with the Department of Anatomy and the Medicine and Humanities Program. Now under the direction of Interim Director Dr. Susan Humphrey-Murto, AIME continues to honour and carry out Dr. Meridith Marks’ vision by supporting medical education research.
