The Anchorage Opera Guild works to bring new energy and ideas to Anchorage Opera. Celebrating over 30 years of service, the Guilds year-round volunteer services and financial support have launched and expanded some of the company’s most successful activities. One of the Guild’s primary responsibilities is to provide volunteers to help manage Anchorage Opera parties and events.
General Info
ANCHORAGE OPERA GUILD ACTIVITIES · We coordinate volunteers for AO, supporting: office staff, ticket/subscription sales, program content/inserts, costumes, logistics, meet & greet for performers & production staff. · We organize Lunches & Afternoons with the Stars of each AO production, where we learn about the upcoming show and hear the performers sing their own music. · The Guild meets twice a year; for this General Meeting, to elect Board members and recognize our volunteers, and at a holiday party in December, just for fun. · There are Opera singers at every Guild event. · For the last two years we have conducted the very successful Guild raffles, which allow us to support AO & NATS, provide comps for students to Met broadcasts and help make Opera more accessible to Alaskans. · While our events are for community outreach, rather than to generate income, we use them to collect donations and sell merchandise, such as coffee and cookbooks. · In a new initiative, we are reaching out to young professionals in Anchorage, through discount ticket programs and hosted events at Grape Expectations. · Also aimed at reaching a younger audience, our communications have been extended to Facebook and Twitter feeds. · We provide information on Met HD broadcasts and Encore performances on our web site.Company Rating
