Description

The Castle Inn was originally a homestead, supporting a small farm-let behind the dunes of the inlet, in the late 1900's. The original building (a block)was built of timber and resembled a traditional 2 story Queenslander. The Brick work which now surrounds the building, was erected in the early 1950's.The middle block(b block) of rooms were also erected at the same time. At the very rear of the facility is C block and this area was originally the stables, and was converted to accommodation around 25 years ago. The Castle has over the last 3 years undergone continuous renovation, and is now a comfortable, clean, green and a safe place to stay for travelers and locals alike. The Castle Inn has 2 large share kitchens, pool,BBQ, herbs gardens,3 sets of toilets and showers, is centrally located in Cairns, being only 8 minutes walk to the city centre and other facilities such as gym(sauna,yoga,pilates,boxing tiachi,spa and massge), Cairns base Hospital (50mtrs), pharmacy(100mtrs),Cairns Esplanade,boardwalk,restaurants,lagoon,nightclubs etc). The Castle Inn has 9 self contained units, which can be rented either nightly,weekly or long term (singles $210 wkly- couples $260wkly).Private rooms(double bed,aircon,flat screen) are available at $155. per week (single person) and share facilites, bathroom, shower,toilet etc. Alcohol consumption and visitors are not allowed on site. The property has a 24 hr manager, and is secure. My aim is to provide a safe,clean comfortable,green place to stay in the heart of Cairns City, and I feel that has been achieved. best regards Rowan

How To Get to Castle Inn

From the city place in Cairns City, walk directly nth on lake for approximately 8 minutes on the left side of the street,,,(dependent on time of day due to shade from sun being opposite to sun position :), ). The Castle Inn is on your left at 209,,,look out for the cannon on the roof of the red brick building looking like a castle.
