Description
CCP operates by having a two part program: We facilitate bi monthly meetings with the Washington neighborhood parents to address issues of concern within their community. Beginning in Fall 2013, CCP will be providing academic support to kinder - 3rd grade at Washington Elementary School. We also have a Thursday project-based Mentor Program matching Washington neighborhood students with mentors from the surrounding community at Biblioteca Latinoamericana for grades kinder - 5th. Our goal is to foster a love of learning in our students and an understanding of academics and school requirements for their parents.
General Info
We help to bridge community agencies to increase knowledge and resources for the Washington families and community. We have hosted SIREN, Planned Parenthood,Parents Helping Parents, Catholic Charities, and other groups. We help families to navigate the public school system with the support of San Jose Unified School District.
