In the fall of 2009, I resigned from Mercedes-Benz of San Diego. With no formal training, little mentorship and only a few tools, I had no option but to learn Paintless Dent Removal on my own for the entire year prior. Corporate micromanagement was constantly over my shoulder and employee turnover was getting worse as each month passed. Inevitably, I decided to go out on my own to develop my skill for this trade I was developing a passion for. Applying all along the California coast, I was able to see the repairs and techniques of professionals who had been in the Paintless Dent Removal industry longer than I had. It was during that time that I knew I wasn’t like other technicians. Many of them were already set in their ways and couldn’t make sense of why I wanted to fix dents they professed were not fixable or even worth fixing. They lacked the creativity and professionalism I possessed. I knew then, that the only way for me to truly be happy was to go into business for myself. Finally, after years of struggling to get to retail quality, I decided to bring my skillset to light and created DENTS WEST in 2013.
