Dr. Khan is an interventional cardiologist devoted to treating patients with compassion and the highest standards of care. His clinical philosophy is rooted in striving for excellence and working tirelessly to improve his patients quality of life. Dr. Khan graduated with honors from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He earned his medical degree from Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago. Upon completion of his Internal Medicine Residency at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, he accepted an appointment as a clinical instructor in Hospital Medicine and won multiple teaching awards during his tenure as University teaching faculty. During his medical training, Dr. Khan was fascinated by the complexities of the human heart and the technological advances made in the field of cardiovascular medicine. After working as a Hospital Medicine Specialist for one year, Dr. Khan decided to pursue his passion for the heart and moved to San Diego for fellowship training in General Cardiology at the Scripps Clinic. After graduating from Scripps Clinic, he returned to Chicago to complete fellowship training in Interventional Cardiology at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Dr. Khan has received training from the some of the world's pioneers in the fields of cardiology and interventional cardiology. He is greatly influenced by their teachings and aims to use cutting edge technologies, evidence based science and innovative methods. He treats his patients with utmost compassion and integrity and believes in using the most up to date medical research and advancements to help his patients. Dr. Khan truly enjoys teaching and is especially interested in educating his patients by spending extra time with them to help develop a proper understanding of their medical condition. He firmly believes that the cornerstone of any treatment plan is an educated and informed patient. His areas of interest span beyond general cardiology and include the treatment of complex coronary artery disease, peripheral vascular disease, structural and valvular heart disease. Dr. Khan also has a special interest in the management of advanced heart failure and pulmonary hypertension. His research interests include cardiac imaging and testing the diagnostic accuracy of novel, miniature echocardiography devices. Dr. Khan and his wife, moved here from Chicago and are very excited about living in Austin. His interests include playing basketball, running, travelling and exploring the beauty of the Texas Hill Country.
