Growing up in the City of Barrie, Dr. Nina Hansen has always had a keen interest in sports and from a young age she experienced first hand the plentiful benefits of chiropractic care. She attended Queen's University where she graduated with Distinction with a Bachelor of Science, Honours in Life Sciences before attending the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College where she earned her Doctorate of Chiropractic. Dr. Nina has been a Certified Personal Trainer with the City of Barrie since 2012 and is also a Certified Clinical Acupuncture Provider. She has experience working with athletes, and clients of all ages in terms of fitness counseling and rehabilitative programs. She was also selected from her Class to intern at St. Michael's Hospital in her last year of Chiropractic College. Outside of academics, she is an avid soccer player, snowboarder and triathlete. As a competitive athlete, motivating Trainer and Chiropractor, she is passionate and committed to improving the health and wellbeing of all her patients. Dr. Nina's focus is to assess and treat problems caused by joints, muscles and nerves. Her goal is to optimize the health of all her patients by improving mobility and function in all areas of the body. Restoring motion and maintaining health helps to reduce pain and dysfunction in order to enjoy an active lifestyle. This is achieved by using chiropractic adjustments, joint mobilizations, soft tissue therapy, acupuncture, kin tape, low-level laser therapy, orthotics, active care and education. With Dr. Nina, your treatment plan and care is evidence-based, holistic and patient-centered.
