Description

Hello, and welcome to the first official Exchange and Transfer Committee Facebook page! We are a group of commerce students who are looking forward to welcoming exchange students into the Queen’s family. The Exchange and Transfer Committee (ETC) works to integrate incoming exchange students into the general Queen’s population, while also providing experiences that greatly improve their time spent in Canada. This is a committee unlike any other offered at Queen’s – our events run on a weekly and bi-weekly basis, designed to maintain consistent interaction to create the best “Exchange Experience” for each and every individual. We have an abundance of events happening this year: including annual trips to Montreal, Exchange Nights, our Semi-Formal, and many events new to this year. We are partnered with HousingAnywhere the international student housing platform. So if you are still looking for a room in Kingston or you need to sublet your current room, visit housinganywhere.com Exchange Students: Feel free to send a message to any of us if you ever have a question about an event we are organizing or if you need some guidance/help or even if you just want to say hi! We are all excited to make your exchange as good as possible and we want you guys to experience the Canadian culture at its fullest. We are also open to feedback or suggestions. So if there were an event you would have liked us to organize or if you enjoyed or did not enjoy an event, inform us! We know there is always room for improvement and we are constantly looking for ways to make your experience as good as possible. Queen’s students: There is so much you can learn about international experiences. If you would like to meet exchange students or attend international events, send us a message and we can make that happen! Also, you should consider becoming a Canuck and fill out the applications released before each fall semester. Any Queen’s student can apply to be a Canuck at the beginning of the year. If you get the position, you will be responsible for guiding two or three exchange students to help us integrate them to our community! So keep an eye out next year! That is all for now! We are thrilled for the events to come and we are looking forward to meeting many of you! Cha Gheill! - ETC Ps: Don't forget to follow our Instagram page (https://www.instagram.com/etc.queens/) where we post some weekly travel ideas as well as all the events coming up!
