Fielding Drive Public School is an Ottawa-Carleton District School Board middle school in the Hunt Club neighbourhood of Ottawa, Ontario.HistoryThe school was built in 1967 and was opened in 1969 as a K-8 school with and open-concept design; however, the school has few windows on the outside of the school due to security issues. In 1988, it was converted into a middle school. Over the years, (because of dropping student population), parts of the school were closed or demolished.StatisticsFielding Drive Public School normally has 300 to 500 students every year. Most students at Fielding graduated from Bayview Public School or General Vanier Elementary School. At least 63% of students are in a standard English learning program, while 37% are in Early French Immersion. Several of the larger ethnic groups at Fielding include Quebecois, Arabs, Serbians, Africans, Indians. Fielding has several musical programs such as a concert band, a jazz band, choir and recorder group. The majority of students leaving Fielding will go to Brookfield High School (Ottawa), while the remainder will go to Canterbury High School (Ottawa), Colonel By Secondary School, Glebe Collegiate Institute or Lisgar Collegiate Institute.
