What is a birth doula partnership? Very simply, we work together in a team of two to support our clients. We share a similar approach and philosophy to doula support and work together to provide you and your partner with the support you want. We attend all no-obligation consultations, pre- and post-partum visits together so that you and your partner have an opportunity to get to know both of us well and so that we both have a thorough understanding of your hopes and preferences for your birth. We share the on-call period which means that only one of us is on-call at a time. When you are ready for some extra support during labor, the doula on-call will join you. She will then stay with you throughout labor and birth, until you are settled postpartum with your new baby. Benefits of a birth doula partnership to you: You gain access to our combined experience and knowledge for the same price that you would normally pay for just one doula! We share over forty births and eight years of experience, including experience with VBACs (vaginal birth after caesarean), twin births, home births, and hospital births. We have also supported clients who have worked with OBs, family doctors, and midwives as their primary care provider. Sharing the on-call period allows us to be refreshed, rested, and excited for your birth! Being on-call for long periods of time without a break can quickly lead to exhaustion and burn out. Sharing call time means that we each regularly have some guaranteed time off call without compromising the quality of your support or your continuity of care.
