People who enter the medical profession are extremely hard-working and committed professionals. Unfortunately, the overwhelming emphasis in medical training is on retaining facts, perfectionism, and avoiding any appearance of weakness. Physicians are not taught the leadership skills, self-awareness, and conflict management tools vital for the marathon of a medical career. Having coached over 300 physician leaders and physicians, and as a practicing physician who has worked in an unusually broad array of clinical and nonclinical roles, I understand the challenges faced by physicians in a wide variety of specialties. You may feel that your compassion and ability to be present and productive as a leader or with patients has been eroded by the demands of the EMR, the emphasis on productivity, complex relationships with non-physician administrators, and the focus on the bottom line. Whether you are an executive in the C suite, an academic leader, or a frontline physician, I am deeply committed to helping you overcome whatever obstacles you face. In my coaching, I help you develop the critical tools not included in training. In a highly individualized, nonjudgmental, and results-oriented manner, I tap into resources you may not know exist.
