Description

Stefan Nichols played 5 years of Junior A hockey and continued his passion for the position into coaching. He has been a professional goaltending consultant for the past 12 years developing goalies of all ages. In his tenure, Stefan has had the opportunity to train numerous professionals, NCAA and Jr “A” goaltenders. In 2009/2010, 10 of the 30 Central Junior A hockey league goalies attended sessions with Stefan Nichols at one point or another in their training career. Stefan’s eye for detail, implementation of the Hybrid style and ability to diagnose inaccuracy among goalies has secured him a position as the Ottawa Junior A Senators goalie coach. In only two years with the team one goalie was invited to tryout with the Ottawa 67’s and the other goalie committed to Lake Superior Division I, NCAA. At the minor level, Stefan has acted as the Ottawa Sting goalie mentor for the past 3 years. In his 3 years as mentor, Sting goalies have always made the jump to the Bantam AAA 67’s organization. Stefan has a track record of bringing goalies to the next level of their play. His knowledge and applications of the technical and tactical elements of goaltending provide his students a solid foundation to develop skills that will be useful throughout their careers. Stefan makes a point of building professional relationships with each student at Goaler U. Stefan identifies the goalies needs and tailors his sessions towards challenging the students to reach their highest potential. Stefan is also a fluently bilingual teacher with the Ottawa Carleton District School Board which provides him the communication and teaching skills to educate the different individuals in all of his sessions.
