Born in Albuquerque, Dr. Young-Trujillo became interested in dentistry while studying at the University of New Mexico. He was accepted into the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry (now the Arthur Dugoni School of Dentistry) in San Francisco, California where he distinguished himself earning the UOP School of Dentistry Community Service Award for his work with disadvantaged community members, ethnic minorities, children and the elderly. After graduation from dental school he entered the University of New Mexico Advanced Education in General Dentistry Program, where he learned advanced techniques in all aspects of dentistry including Sedation Dentistry . Upon completion of the program he went on to work at La Familia Medical Center in Santa Fe providing care for pediatric patients and as a general dentist.
