We're a registered Canadian charity that trains doctors and healthcare workers from developing nations.
The International Outreach Program of the St. Joseph’s Health System is a registered Canadian charity that partners with hospitals and medical schools in developing countries to build healthcare capacity through training and education. We provide this training through side-by-side knowledge transfer in our partner countries and through the provision of a clinical exchange program based at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton and McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario. Learn more about our unique training model. We focus on partnerships and solutions that host countries can sustain. The projects we work on complement work already underway. Our teams include doctors and nurses, biomedical engineers, and numerous other clinical specialties. The International Outreach Program has been bringing good intentions to life around the world since 1986. Before 2010, we were funded entirely by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Hamilton. In 2010, we became registered as a Canadian charity. We now receive our funding entirely from individuals, foundations, corporations, service organizations and government grants. Learn more about our history. The International Outreach Program is grounded in our mission, vision and guiding principles. Your gift to the International Outreach Program of St. Joseph’s Health System provides life-saving medical training in areas of the world where medical resources are low. Please give generously now.
