The John Arcand Fiddle Fest became a registered non-profit organization in 2001. We are non-membership based and governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. We operate with the equivalent of one full-time staff member and approximately 40 volunteers. We are a grassroots festival that focuses on affordable family fun. Designed to promote and preserve; fiddle, music and dance with a strong Metis Theme running throughout. Featuring a great variety of workshops, concerts, old time dances, shows and competitions. Designed for people who love fiddle and old time music and getting together with others that enjoy them too! The John Arcand Fiddle Fest publishes a quartelry newsletter..the Fiddle Flyer. Published every three months (September, December, March and June) it keeps subscribers informed on music, dance and fiddle events from right across Western Canada. The Fiddle Flyer contains a calendar of upcoming events from every province that submits, articles, advertorials and more. The subscription fee is $15 per year. The Lighthouse serves a variety of clientele including those with mental health disorders, chronic addiction, FASD,acquired brain injury, physical, intellectual and cognitive disabilities, transitioning youth and low-income seniors. Our goal is to end homelessness in Saskatoon.
