Originally growing up in Prosepine, Karen Ward moved to Townsville to complete her College of Dental Therapy. After graduating in 1978, Karen worked for QLD Health for 25 years based in the Townsville, Whitsunday and Nambour regions. During this time Karen was also able to complete her Diploma in Frontline Management. Following her time with QLD Health, Karen spend 5 years in Private Practice for 1300 Smiles in Townsville, perfecting her clinical expertise in working with Children. As a qualified Dental Therapist, Karen has extensive experience in treating children from 4-18 years for services including check-ups, cleans, x-rays, extraction of baby teeth and all restorative and preventive work. Being a mother of 3 boys, Karen’s friendly and warm personality allows her to quickly develop a great rapport with all her patients to create a fun and positive dental experience. Karen looks towards making the relationship between her and her patients’ families a long-standing one founded on mutual respect and trust to help the children she treats develop strong and lasting oral hygiene routines, maintaining their teeth for the long-term.
