1 dog $25/hour. 2 dogs $40/hour (separate or together) . 5 bookings in advance $20/hour. Any hour day or night, weekdays only. Let me tell you a little bit about myself. First of all my name is Kieran (my friends call me Kizza) and i absolutely LOVE dogs of all shapes n sizes! (they kinda love me too.) I'm 25 years old from Perth, Western Australia and I've just moved to Melbourne in search of something new. I have completed Cert III in Companion Animal Studies at Murdoch Challenger TAFE in Western Australia. Some of the units in this course include: *Animal first aid *Provide advice on companion animal selection and general care *Work effectively in the companion animal industry *Maintain and monitor animal health and well-being *Provide enrichment for animals *Capture, handle and transport companion animals *Plan for and provide nutritional requirements for animals *Identify and respond to animal behavior *Provide information on companion animals, products and services *Provide training advice to companion animal owners That's all good and well learning in a class but nothing beats what you learn hands on. Over the last 4 years I've been a paid worker in a number of animal shelters across Western Australia including W.A's largest animal shelter The Dogs Refuge Home of Shenton Park where i'd work closely with and learn new wisdom daily with the head trainer Tracey Lord who has had 20 years experience working with animals. I have also volunteered with a number of animal rescue groups across Australia where i would foster homeless dogs and bring them into my own home on a daily basis. Not only do i love dogs, i love taking photos of them! The chances are if I'm walking your dog, you're going to get some photos of him/her on our walk together. This service comes free with every walk. I'd be happy to e-mail digital prints of your dog for free but if you would like a framed copy just have a chat with me and i'm sure we could work out an affordable price :) I've also educated myself with a number of books regarding information on dog training and dog behavior. Usually if it's not a book about dogs i wont pick it up. Okay that's enough about me, more about your dog... Why do i need to pay someone to walk my dog? EXERCISE Most dogs need at least 1.5 hours exercise a day. It's understandable that in our busy working and social lives that we simply don't get enough time to walk our dogs or sometimes we may have health problems that prevent us from walking our dogs. Sometimes we're just lazy, but that's okay and it is why you have me. Is your dog displaying problematic behaviors such as: *Undesired chewing *Uncontrollable barking *Digging up your gardens *Fence jumping *Over excitement/playfulness Well the chances are that your dog is bored and probably isn't getting enough exercise. Boredom and lack of exercise is the #1 reason for problematic behaviors in dogs. A healthy body breeds a healthy mind as the saying goes and dogs are no different. Dogs, especially younger ones need lots of exercise to build up a healthy immune system and body to learn about their surroundings. I should be able to know the limit of your dog and know exactly the perfect distance to cover so that your dog gets everything he/she needs without over doing it especially in the older dogs who do not need as much. DIGESTION Dogs that fail to get the daily dose of exercise that a good walk brings tend to suffer from many ailments including most notably chronic digestion and stomach problems and lack of sphincter control resulting in farting and loose bowels. Dogs tend to know when they are not feeling well which is why some dogs eat grass to solve many ailments to their inner body. INTERACTION Dogs need plenty of interaction with other dogs and people to improve their social skills and learn how to behave in regular situations. Like humans, a lack of social interaction can lead to some dogs becoming too shy, too dependent or too crazy to interact with others. Walking your dog regularly in different surroundings near other dogs can improve their demeanor. DISCIPLINE Dogs who are locked up all day and who don't get the exercise they need invariably are the ones with behavior problems and usually are the ones that break household objects, take and destroy pieces of clothing and ultimately have accidents. A good walk can remove most of the built up energy and i can help train dogs with discipline problems on walks by making dogs that have a negative attitude always walk behind me and not in front as this will give the dog good guidance and limit their desire to attack anything. BONDING The bond between man and dog is a special one and dogs who get walked regularly tend to bond to humans better than those who do not. Dogs see their dog walker as a friend and grow an affinity to that person leading to increased trust, loyalty and friendship in the dog. There are many cases where dogs have saved not only their owners life but also the life of their regular dog walker and any living thing that would give their life for yours surely deserves the best and at the very least a walker that you can trust with your dog. Why choose me as your dog walker? *Well I'm not sure if i mentioned earlier but I ABSOLUTELY LOVE DOGS! I'll be your dogs best friend, he'll be waiting at the door ready for my next visit. *I'm also highly qualified and have lots of experience working with dogs. *With my experience i can offer lots of free professional advice. *I take pride in being a lot cheaper than most other dog walkers. *I can come to most areas in Melbourne. *I'm super friendly, trust worthy, reliable and can ensure that every $1 that you spend on your dog walking gets put to excellent use. *I use all of my own leads and doggy treats but I'm happy to use yours if you wish. *I offer free photography of your pet. *I meet with the owner first to discuss if there is anything i need to know about the dog and that way you can also get to know me and see for yourself if you can trust the person that is walking your dog. For me, this is something I'm really passionate about and remains more of a hobby than a job. That's the way it has always been and always will be.
