My grade three report card went something like this: “Laura is very artistic, but she asks too many questions and talks too much in class.” Not much has changed since then except that now I get paid for talking (and writing.) I do try to control myself when I’m in a theatre watching a film, much to my husband’s relief! As a senior performing arts & sports publicist for 22 years, my imagination fuelled my unique campaigns from the Premiere of The Return of the Jedi in Canada; film director Deepa Mehta; New Yorker Magazine cover artist, Anita Kunz Exhibit Library of Congress, Washington D.C. to Lord of the Rings Symphony with Howard Shore; N’SYNC’s Fashion Collection; Rick Hansen’s Man In Motion Tour & Wayne Gretzky Celebrity Tennis, to name only a few. For six years I was media manager for what is now the Roger’s Cup Tennis Tournament, Rexall Centre,Toronto. (ATP/WTA Circuit) For over 15 years I have written features & advertorials for national magazines, newspapers and web content continuing to combine my love for the arts, design, travel, retail, food (and eating), meeting fascinating people and snooping through fabulous homes, as a never-ending source for articles. A Toronto girl born and bred. I moved to Vancouver, British Columbia, to be closer to the water, mountains and more parking spots!
