With Glowing Hearts 2016-2017 All-Canadian Season Our aim at ATP is to make life more beautiful by creating and producing great contemporary theatre from Canada and beyond. Our work is about what’s now, what’s new & what’s next. In the welcoming oval of the Martha Cohen Theatre, right here in Calgary, we stretch as deep as life, as wide as the world. I think plays ask questions - questions that maybe we ourselves can’t quite articulate, or haven’t yet dared ask. Sometimes, a great theatrical experience can awaken parts of ourselves we have forgotten existed. Some days, the world can make us feel like a number, a one-dimensional consuming unit. The noise of the world we live in can seem overwhelming – no room to breathe, or think, or feel. But a terrific night in the theatre can help us breathe again. Suddenly, we feel fully and truly alive. It’s so nourishing, in the midst of modern life. Ultimately, at ATP, we do theatre about being alive right now. For me, nothing is more exciting to experience, nor more vital for a theatre company to do than that. So, welcome. Come on in, sit down with us, and join the conversation! See you in the Martha Cohen Theatre, Vanessa Porteous Artisitic Director
