Maitland RSL Sub Branch

at 3 Bulwer St, Maitland , 2320 Australia

A place to find all the latest information about the Maitland RSL Sub branch. Message From the Sub Branch President: The executive and committee are dedicated to providing a continuing service which meets the needs not only of our own members but also those of all ex-service men and women and their families throughout Maitland and the surrounding Hunter Valley districts. My Pensions and Welfare Officers are keeping up to date with Department of Veterans Affairs changes through bi-monthly network meetings which enables them to provide a constantly improved service to our members and all ex-servicemen and women. To help with the increasing number of pension enquiries, Mondays has now been set aside as our main pension day for which bookings must be made for interviews, special arrangements can be made for those outside the immediate Maitland area. My executive and committee work hard for our members, manning the office Monday to Saturday on a voluntary basis and looking after general enquiries and the needs of our members and the whole ex-service community. A sub-Branch is only as good as its members and in Maitland our members support is "second to none".

Description

The Maitland RSL was first formed on the 1 June 1919 by soldiers and sailors returning from WW1. It is one of the few sub branches in the state that provides a week long service to members and current and ex servicemen who are yet to become members. Our pension and welfare officers are available to assist current and former serving service men/women and have received the latest training. Maitland RSL is committed to the future and is hoping that by the creation of this Facebook page, it will encourage the younger generation of current and ex serving military personnel from the Maitland and surrounding area to join the Sub Branch. Maitland RSL is also committed to raising awareness in the community about commemorative and fundraising events through social media.
