I love photography. I have since I was a child, running around with my Minolta 35mm in Stanley Park taking photos of anything and everything. And that was in the days of film cameras, when you actually had to pay money to see the images that you shot. My first digital camera was a Sony Mavica. When it came out it cost me almost $1500, and it used a floppy disc as a memory card. You could set the size of the image to be anywhere from about 15K to a single image being the size of the floppy- 1.3 megs. I still have a lot of the photos I took with that camera, and with the 2 other Mavica's I bought after that one. Of course, if you look at the images at screen size, they're pixelated to the point where you can't see what they are. :-) I still actually still have 2 of those Mavica's. I wonder if you can still buy floppy discs? Probably the same place you buy 8 tracks and Betamax cassettes. The Mavica's were followed by a Panasonic Lumix. It was a pretty cool camera. At the time, that particular model was one step below an interchangeable lens DSLR. That camera was great for about a year and a half until I was in Montana. I ended up taking a photo of the cutest little fox cub you've ever seen, and I just really thought that I needed to start doing this -photography- a lot better. So, about 2 months later I went out and bought myself a Sony Alpha 700. From there I went on to a Sony A55, and then an A77. Add to that wide angle lenses, macro equipment, portrait lenses, telephotos, fisheyes....Yikes!! My photographic interests are very diverse. I love macro photography- particularly insects. I love going out with my 70-400 and shooting some of the many local bird species that we have locally- eagles, owls, ducks, kingfishers...too many to list. I also love photographing architecture, and city panoramics as well as landscapes. I really just love taking photos of anything that looks appealing to me. I hope to be able to show you a lot of that on this Facebook page.
