A dream come true for Jennifer Dubois, Miyosiwin Salon Spa provides quality hair care and spa services by experienced Journaperson Hairstylists and Estheticians. Following her First Nation culture, Jennifer implements cultural protocol into the services Miyosiwin Salon Spa provides to their clients. Jennifer received her Journeyperson designation in 2006. This designation is equivalent to a Inter-provincial “Red Seal” certification. Jennifer has over 12 years experience, a certificate in Make-up Artistry from Richards Beauty College, and a Degree of Administration from the First Nations University of Canada. Jennifer placed second in the CBC Boombox competition in 2012 after presenting her business idea to a panel of judges. After receiving her award and the guidance from a mentor, Jennifer opened her home-based business in 2013. Most recently, Jennifer was successful in receiving the Contribution Program Grant from the Saskatchewan Indian Equity Foundation in December 2016, in which she was able to achieve her goal of expanding Miyosiwin into a commercial business offering full hair and spa services. Miyosiwin Salon Spa carries salon exclusive professional product line, Redken, Davines and Living Proof retail products, as well as organic skin care line, Beauty Through Balance by Ancient Secrets, which is indigenous to British Columbia. http://www.beautythroughbalance.ca/
