MUTEK est un organisme sans but lucratif, dédié à la diffusion et au développement des formes émergentes de la création numérique sonore, musicale, visuelle. Depuis sa création en 2000, l’activité principale de MUTEK est la présentation d’un festival de cinq jours, fin mai / début juin. Chaque année, c’est près de 100 artistes, panélistes, et professionnels de l’industrie qui participent à ce qui est aujourd’hui l’un des événements majeurs du genre en Amérique du nord. Au fil des ans, MUTEK a présenté un nombre considérable d’artistes reconnus, tout en accordant une place importante à ceux de la relève, pour laquelle MUTEK constitue un important tremplin sur les scènes locales et internationales. Aujourd’hui, un réseau MUTEK existe, et comporte des ramifications en Amérique du Nord, en Amérique du Sud, en Europe, en Asie et au Moyen Orient; une tribune essentielle pour explorer et promouvoir un contenu artistique varié, reflétant une effervescence culturelle très actuelle et mondiale. --------- MUTEK is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the dissemination and development of digital creativity in sound, music, and audio-visual art. Founded in 2000, MUTEK, its central platform is an annual five-day event in Montreal that takes place in late May and early June. Each year, more than 100 artists, panelists, and industry professionals participate in what has become a leading event of its kind in North America. The MUTEK festival has presented many of electronic music’s most established figures, while providing a platform for numerous new talents who have gone on to build sustainable careers, often as a result of their appearances at the festival. A MUTEK network exists today, with ramifications in North America, South America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East which provides an essential platform to promote and explore wide-ranging artistic content, all the while reflecting a cultural effervescence that is both real and global. MUTEK is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the dissemination and development of digital creativity in sound, music, and audio-visual art. Its mandate is to provide a platform for the most original and visionary artists currently working in their fields, with the intent of providing an outlet of initiation and discovery for the audiences we seek to develop.
