About the Director:
Lesley Angela Davis is a 2009 graduate of Texas Woman’s University with a BA in Dance Education. Lesley has performed in multiple student works, and has invested much rehearsal and performance time with several artists such as Michael Foley, Lisa Niedemyer, Lionel Popkin. She has also studied with both Nycole Ray and Melissa Young from Dallas Black Dance Theater. She has also taken part in the TWU dance company, DanceWorks, where she performed work choreographed by Larry Keigwin. She had the pleasure of receiving theory and dance instruction by Dr. Linda Caldwell, Jordan Fuchs, Sarah Gamblin, Stephanie Milling-Robins, and Mary Williford-Shade. While at TWU, Lesley had the opportunity to perform a dance work at The American College Dance Festival. Lesley’s dance background includes African, Ballet, Contemporary, Hip-Hop, Modern, Tap, and Jazz with an emphasis on Precision Dance/Drill-Team. Because of her training, Lesley has been able to instruct dance intensives and create choreography for various groups around the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. It is Lesley’s goal to provide an artistic influence within the community through dance performance.
Lesley was a four-year member of the Mesquite High School Colorguard and Winterguard where she also severed as a Lieutenant, a two-year member of the Mesquite High School All-Stars Drill-Team, and after graduation she was selected to be a member of the Trinity Valley Community College Cardettes. Lesley has since developed work at Eastfield Community College with the Rehearsal and Performance classes and presented work at other dance events in the Dallas area.
