New Genesis is a transitional living community for homeless men, women and children in the metro Denver and Las Vegas area. In the last quarter of a century, New Genesis has transformed from an emergency shelter to a therapeutic community which other programs are starting to emulate. New Genesis is committed to expansion into communities which lack adequate resources. Originally started as a program to support and sustain single working men, New Genesis has grown into an organization that now serves men, women, families and single parents with children. Though proud of our accomplishments, we continue to be committed to seeking out the people most in need of our services.
The primary function of New Genesis is to facilitate the transition of homeless men, women and children from an existence on the streets to a life of independence. By the use of community meetings, intervention and case management New Genesis constantly reaffirms positive goal-oriented objectives. New Genesis has found that the critical components to success include: finding and maintaining fulltime employment, a serious commitment to a life of sobriety and the willingness to achieve financial stability. By not only learning these philosophies but adopting them as a function of everyday living, an individual can regain a sense of self-worth and maintain a life of self-sufficiency.
