Description

The Newark City School District is in Newark, Ohio, and features seven elementary schools, three middle schools and one high school. The district serves about 6,200 students, and is home to the Pride of Newark Marching Band, the award-winning Sinfonia — which was profiled in the New York Times and received a trip in 2009 to the White House, 2008 Ohio High School Basketball State Champion Newark Wildcats. The district is nearing the completion of a $140 million district-wide construction and renovation project that has reduced the number of buildings in operation and increased building efficiencies.
