The Partnerships in Dementia Care (PiDC) Alliance is focused on enhancing dementia care by changing the culture within long-term and community care to better reflect a relationship-centered, partnership approach to care. The PiDC Alliance is co-led by Dr. Sherry Dupuis, Professor in Recreation and Leisure Studies at the University of Waterloo, and Dr. Carrie McAiney, Assistant Professor in Psychiatry and Behavioural Neurosciences at McMaster University.
The PiDC Alliance is dedicated to improving the care experience and supports provided for persons living with Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia, their partners in care, and staff working in care settings. The Alliance believes that quality of care can be improved only when that the needs of all persons involved in the care context are valued, recognized, heard and addressed.
