The Peacock was built in 1854 by Horace and Edwin Bastings. The following year they sold it to the 21-year-old George Plant. Plant was to become synonymous with the Peacock, holding the license until his death in 1895. His widow, Catherine then took over the hotel license until 1910. Today we strive to provide the very best and friendly service to our customers by going beyond customer expectations and doing that little bit extra to make a positive impact on your experience. How To Get to Peacock Inn Hotel

The Peacock Inn hotel is located at the top of the hill in the vibrant Northcote High St Precinct. Taxi: The address is 210 High St Northcote. Local taxi companies include: Silver Top - ph. 131008 Arrow - ph. 132211 Combined - ph. 132227 Train: Both the Merri and Northcote train stations located on the Epping line are within a short walk of the Hotel as well as Westgarth and Dennis stations on the Greensborough line. From Merri station walk right of the platform then head right up the hill on Clarke St. Once up the hill turn left onto High St and The Peacock will be on your right. From Northcote station turn right onto Separation St and then right onto High St. The Peacock will be on your left. Tram: Take the number 86 Bundoora RMIT tram from Bourke St heading north. The trips takes about 20mins and once you come through Westgarth get off at the top of hill outside the Northcote Town Hall. The Peacock will be on the opposite side of the road. Car: The Peacock Inn Hotel is situated on the corner of High St and Bastings St in Northcote. The Melways Reference is Map 30 F9. Parking in the area is free though time limits vary from 1 to 3 hours between the hours of 8am and 6pm. Free all day parking can be found down the bottom end of Bastings St and surrounding side streets.
