The Gamma chapter of Pi Kappa Phi is based out of UC Berkeley. As members, we are men of C.L.A.S.S. who firmly believe in the tenets of Character, Leadership, Academics, Sportsmanship, and Service. Welcome current and prospective Cal students, alumni, supporters and brothers across the nation! The Gamma Chapter of Pi Kappa Phi was founded at UC Berkeley in 1908. It is the third chapter of Pi Kappa Phi to have ever been established, carrying a long and rich history of tradition. Founded on December 10, 1904 at the College of Charleston, Pi Kappa Phi has granted 223 charters in 38 states and the District of Columbia. The Gamma Chapter is currently one of the fastest growing chapters on the UC Berkeley campus, having crossed 23 initiates in the past two semesters. In terms of active collegiate members, Pi Kappa Phi stands as one of the ten largest current fraternities in the North-American Interfraternitiy Conference. Our motto is OΥΔΕΝ ΔΙΑΣΠΑΣΕΙ ΗΜΑΣ, meaning, "Nothing Shall Ever Tear Us Asunder". Originally founded under the letters "Nu-Phi", meaning "Non-Fraternity", Pi Kappa Phi was founded upon the principles that the brothers of this fraternity would defy the stereotype of the common fraternity and purify the definition of brotherhood. To this day, brothers of Pi Kappa Phi hold strong to our vision to redefine fraternity as a lifelong brotherhood of leaders. For more information on Pi Kappa Phi as a national organization, please visit http://pikapp.org/ For more information on the Gamma Chapter of Pi Kappa Phi at UC Berkeley, please visit http://calpikappaphi.org/ The Gamma Chapter's Executive Committee currently stands as follows: Archon: Robert S. Uchida Vice Archon: Casey Doherty Treasurer: Erik T. Krogen Secretary: Dimitri Dmitriou Warden: Jeffrey Jankaew Historian: Camil Realubit Chaplain: Michael Chang PUSH Chairmen: David Zhang and Benjamin Chao
Pi Kappa Phi's national philanthropy, Push America, is the only philanthropic organization exclusively owned and operated by a North American Fraternity. Founded in 1977 by Executive Director Durward Owen, Push America's aim is to enhance the quality of life for people with disabilities while instilling lifelong service and leadership skills of its members. With it's three central areas of focus in mind (Disability Awareness, Fundraising, and Volunteerism), Push America donates over $2 Million dollars a year to the disabled community, all facilitated by united national effort of honest and hard work by our Pi Kappa Phi brothers. Throughout the calendar year, brothers of Pi Kappa Phi organize events to benefit Push America, while in turn molding themselves and others into better leaders of the future. For more information on Push America, please visit http://pushamerica.org/ Events such as Build America (a six week program building disabled-friendly facilities and summer camps) and the Journey of Hope (a transcontinental biking odyssey to raise awareness for the disabled community) are just some examples of how brothers of this fraternity continually participate in and practice the virtues of both Pi Kappa Phi and Push America. The Gamma Chapter itself ranks among the top 20 in the nation of Pi Kappa Phi Chapters in Push America Fundraising. To make a gift to the chapter, please following this link.
