Description

Chef Alexander Alioto made a name for himself at his first restaurant, Seven Hills, where he was co-owner and executive chef. Zagat named Seven Hills San Francisco’s best Italian restaurant in San Francisco while he ran the kitchen. At Plin, he is still offering his pasta favorites, yet Chef Alexander is taking more risks in the kitchen. Plin specializes in modern Italian cuisine, with an emphasis on seafood and handmade pasta dishes and extraordinary flavor pairings. A graduate of the California Culinary Academy, Alioto honed his craft during his extensive travels and stages across Europe where he worked for three years. He acquired his passion for seafood growing up with his restaurant family, which started selling crabs on Fisherman’s Wharf in 1925 and continues to run Alioto’s restaurant.
