Polynesians, we share with you the culture and traditions of our people through live dancing, drumming and singing.
Ura/Hula or dance is the language of the heart, and the heartbeat of the Polynesian people. A sinuous dance characterized by rhythmic movement of the hips and mimetic gestures with hands accompanied by chants, singing, ukulele tunes and pulsating drumming. Ura can be hypnotic, sensuous, powerful, and joyful. Our entertainers perform a combination of ancient, authentic ura where we pass on the legends of our culture, and also modern ura which celebrates contemporary life. Although modern, it retains its Polynesian roots. Respect, love and sharing, are essential ingredients of ura. 'Te Po ava'e' means a 'Moonlit Night'. On such nights we all share the same wonders of its power and beauty to which we respect with love and awe. The same feelings you will experience when we share with you our heartbeat!
