Description

Project YAPP brings together at-risk youth and at-risk dogs in a safe environment so that the teens learn how to provide grooming, socialization and behavioral training to the animals giving the dogs a significantly increased chance of being adopted. The teens, in turn, learn patience, compassion, leadership, responsibility and a sense of accomplishment. After working with the dogs, the youth display a heightened awareness of themselves and their community and learn, through positive reinforcement, how to build and strengthen relationships in their own lives.
