The Queen's Fuel Cell team is a multi-faculty, student-run team which specializes in the research and development of the application of fuel cells within vehicles. The team appeals to a large range of technical students , encompassing many fields of science and engineering, with a particular emphasis on mechanical, electrical and chemical engineering. The QFCT also provides an excellent opportunity to any students wishing to get involved in design or business operations. Absolutely no experience is necessary to join the team! The team's current project is retrofitting a Bombardier Recreational Product snowmobile to be powered by a fuel cell stack. The completion of this project will mark the first recorded construction of a fuel cell powered snowmobile. The team's aim is to compete in the SAE Clean Snowmobile Challenge in 2013, in order to showcase the QFCT's expertise and accomplishment.
