Our programs at the School of Music have earned a reputation for being both comprehensive and flexible, allowing students to explore many of their interests without having to choose a single stream of study. You may pursue courses in one or a combination of the following areas: theory, composition, music education, music history, ethnomusicology, music technology and performance. It is also possible to combine music and education degrees in the very successful concurrent education program. We offer an intimate learning environment in a school with an innovative past and energetic future. Our facilities include Electroacoustic Music Studios, the Computer Laboratory for Applications in Music, and an Early Instrument Collection. Our award winning faculty are drawn from some of the most prestigious institutions in the world and regularly receive national and international recognition for their research, teaching, and artistic contributions. Besides courses in Western art music, you will have opportunities to study jazz, folk, popular, and non-Western music traditions. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us by mail, telephone or e-mail. You can even arrange a personal tour of our building and meet some of our professors. I look forward to greeting you when you visit Queen’s. Margaret Walker, Director School of Music, Queen's University
