Description

Education & Background Dr. Troop graduated magna cum laude from Baylor University and received his medical degree from the University of New Mexico School of Medicine where he was elected into the AOA Honor Society. He then completed his sports medicine fellowship in San Diego, CA, where he worked with several professional athletic teams such as the San Diego Chargers, the San Diego Sockers, and the America 3 yacht team for the America’s Cup. Dr. Troop is currently the team physician for the Frisco RoughRiders, the AA affiliate of the Texas Rangers, and is an orthopedic consultant to the Dallas Stars Hockey Club and Texas Rangers. He has worked with multiple local schools and is currently the Team Physician for Trinity Christian Academy. He has a special interest in the treatment of sports related injuries and enjoys taking care of athletes from all ranges of athletics including professional to recreational sports. Dr. Troop has authored several publications, has worked as an instructor at the Arthroscopy Learning Center and the Arthroscopy Association of North America and he has served as the Chief and Vice Chief of the Department of Orthopedics at the Medical Center of Plano. He is currently a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the Arthroscopy Association of North America, the Texas Sports Medicine Society, and the Texas Medical Association. He and his wife, Pam, live in Plano with their 4 children, Tim, Drew, Will and Tori.
