Description

The fundamental idea is that all people have a basic need to contribute to (invest in) their community and have their contribution recognized and valued by others. Our economic system does not provide a way for renters to build equity or have much of a voice in decisions that affect their lives regardless of what they do to make their housing and community better. The result is that, even though the public makes a tremendous investment in providing affordable housing, most residents living in that housing are not able to improve their lives. Those who have no alternative path to a better future are dependent and alienated. Changing the model can rebuild hope and create more prosperous communities. Our successful experience with Renting Partnerships shows that we can provide a pathway for low income people to build healthier, safer communities in which residents are invested. Increased equity results in decreased spending on prisons, security enforcement, welfare, and social services. It also creates new potential markets."

Stray Animal Adoption Program Adoptable Animals
Newport , KY 41071 United States

Stray Animal Adoption Program (SAAP) is an all- volunteer, non-profit organization that exists to rescue, protect, and provide care for at risk pets. We are an all-volunteer 501(c)3 non profit organization. We are dedicated to the rescue of animals that are in need of a forever home. Our animals are fostered in homes where we provide love, food, medical care and socialization until adoption into a new loving home. We educate on the importance of spaying and neutering of all pets. We ensure all animals have been spayed or neutered prior to adoption. They are microchipped, up to date on shots and on heartworm and anti-flea medications (as age appropriate). They are ready and waiting to start their new life with their fur-ever family. Could that be you? We need your help to continue our mission. We rely solely on donations and fundraisers. All donations are tax-deductible and 100% of your donation will go towards the rescue, care, and medical needs of the animals.

American Foundation for Suicide Prevention Ohio Chapter
null

The Ohio Chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention has been at the forefront of a wide range of suicide prevention initiatives -- each designed to reduce loss of life from suicide. We are investing in groundbreaking research, new educational campaigns, innovative demonstration projects and critical policy work. And we are expanding our assistance to people whose lives have been affected by suicide, reaching out to offer support and offering opportunities to become involved in prevention. We are increasing the number of community-based chapters, now at 50, with two-dozen more in development. And we have a growing list of friends and supporters leading a grassroots constituency that can advocate for the policies and legislation at the state and federal levels to advance suicide prevention. With a suicide attempt estimated to occur every minute of every day in the United States and over 36,000 lives lost each year, the importance of AFSP's mission has never been greater, nor our work more urgent.
