The Specific Carbohydrate Diet™ (SCD) takes out the foods that damage and introduces more of the foods that heal. It's amazing the (ever growing) list of ailments and diseases it can heal.

Description

The Specific Carbohydrate Diet™ (SCD) has helped people with Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, celiac disease, IBS, chronic diarrhoea and a whole host of auto immune diseases such as Lupus, Fybromyalgia and Psoriasis. The GAPS diet has its roots in SCD. It stands for 'Gut and Psychology Syndrome' and has been beneficial for children with learning difficulties, including ADHD and autism. Both SCD and GAPS are very similar to the Paleo diet. I'm a Londoner on the SCD diet, not a health practitioner. I suffered from noticeable digestive issues for nearly two years before I found SCD Diet. I was getting terrible bloating, foggy brain and rashes/ psoriasis on my face. I had also started to get aches in my left leg and hip, which came and went. Worryingly, they were getting worse and lasting longer. Slowly I started cutting things out of my diet through self diagnosis. First yeast and wheat, then gluten, each time seeing improvements, but then plateauing and not making any progress. I started the SCD diet in November 2012, when I was also diagnosed with Leaky Gut. The tips and experiences I share here are for others interested in their health, or doing the SCD in the UK.
