Social Media Club Richmond (SMCRVA) was founded in May of 2009 to bring the ideals of the larger organization to central Virginia in the form of relevant, practical social media programs on a monthly basis. Our events have ranged from panel discussions identifying the ways changing technologies have affected myriad industries to presentations from noted authors and inspirational guest speakers, always with the goal of mixing interesting business ideas and practices with a networking and social component. Social Media Club is an international organization, founded in 2006, with the goal of hosting conversations that explore key issues facing our society as technologies transform the way we connect, communicate, collaborate and relate to each other. Today, there are 300+ chapters on six continents, the largest such collection of social media professionals and enthusiasts in the world.

SMCRVA is a non-profit organization; our regular events are open to the public and typically carry a small fee to cover catering and other venue costs. While opportunities to become an official member of the national organization exist, we consider every attendee of our SMCRVA events to be a local member.
