Description

WE OFFER MORE THAN JUST ACUPUNCTURE In fact, that's the whole point of our clinic space. If you're looking for an acupuncture-only treatment, you might prefer to visit one of our excellent acupuncture friends on our Friends of Spry page. Here we focus on providing accessible and effective Traditional East Asian Medicine (TEAM) treatments in a community setting. You can expect a combination of one-on-one treatment time with one of our skilled practitioners, which may include any combination of moxa, guasha, cupping, tuina, and/or acupuncture, as well as unlimited time in our community moxa circle (lovingly referred to as our Moxa Den!) WE WORK WITH A SLIDING SCALE To share TEAM with as many people as possible, we try to keep costs as low as possible. A sliding scale is a suggested minimum price that allows you to have an effective treatment and your practitioner to be fairly compensated. You decide how much you pay each visit, no questions asked. It is generally accepted that frequent treatment is more effective treatment: another reason we try to keep costs low. We want you to come back as often as you feel like it! THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE YOU COME Wear loose, comfortable clothes. Some treatments take place fully clothed, others may require rolling up shirt sleeves or pant legs above the elbows and knees. Some people may choose to receive treatments that require removing their shirt and/or pants in a curtained off section of the clinic. You decide what you're comfortable with. It gets a little smoky. Moxibustion is the practice of burning dried herb, called "moxa" or "mugwort", and some patients find they are sensitive to the smoke. We operate air purification systems, and provide face masks for those who request them, however, this is definitely not a smoke-free environment (although the only thing we burn here is moxa herb, and from time to time a little sage and/or incense ). Our clinic is an open-concept treatment space. There are curtains for privacy while changing and receiving certain kinds of treatment, but we do not have separate, private treatment rooms. You decide your comfort level regarding what regions of the body you want your practitioner to work on directly. Our community moxa circle is a public space designed to encourage a practioner-guided, social, and self-healing experience with friends, family, colleagues, and friends-you-haven't-met-yet. Plan to stay at least 45 minutes to 1 hour. For your first visit only, please arrive 15 minutes before your appointment start time to fill in an Intake & Consent form, unless you have already downloaded and filled it out beforehand. We only accept cash or personal cheques. Questions? Want to book an appointment? Please email info@spryclinic.com or phone 647-708-7788. LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING YOU SOON!
