General Info

The primary function of St Hilda's College Library, also known as the Kathleen Major Library, is the provision of material, in both paper and electronic format, in support of the learning and research needs of St Hilda’s students. For many, this is a library of first-resort, consulted before going to the Bodleian or faculty libraries. In the library, you can: • borrow up to 20 books • consult periodical titles in hard copy • consult thousands of electronic resources via SOLO and OXLIP+ • recommend a book to be bought by the library • recall a book if it’s on loan to another reader • do your photocopying • scan material • use word processing facilities • print out material in black and white or colour • go online to use the web / college intranet at one of 10 networked computers • connect wirelessly to the web using your laptop • look at past papers (online or using printed copies) • consult a small rare books section and a large archive • make use of a small DVD, CD, record and cassette collection • make use of a leisure reading section, including contemporary writing and travel writing • study in the garden!
