Description

The mission of SDP is to provide Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics services within Central Texas focusing specifically on children with special needs. The three primary areas of services include: 1. Developmental Pediatrics medical consultation with areas of expertise to include: a. Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) b. Intelligence Disabilities (ID) c. Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) d. Learning Disabilities e. Academic Under-achievement f. Children with known or suspected genetic disorders and associated developmental delays g. General Developmental Delay (delays in the adaptive, cognitive, fine motor delay, gross motor, language and social domains of development) h. Language Disorders (expressive, receptive, non-verbal, pragmatic, semantic, apraxia and articulation) i. History of Prematurity / Neonatal ICU High Risk Follow Up 2. Adoptive Medicine consultative service with particular expertise regarding Asian adoptions: a. Pre-adoption: Work with families to determine the health status of the prospectus adopted child. Offering the ability to travel to the child to conduct a face to face medical evaluation for the family prior to finalization of adoption. b. Post-adoption: Coordinate the medical needs of children after adoption with emphasis upon the developmental-behavioral needs. 3. Educational Advocacy consultative service for families seeking professional assistance to develop, implement and enforce appropriate Individual Education Programs (IEP) services within the special education school programs. I am double board certified in General Pediatrics and Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics, bringing six years of diverse international developmental pediatrics experiences to this new practice in Central Texas. This practice is predominantly consultative and diagnostic in nature. No direct interventional services are provided at SDP, aside from medication management. The evaluation is designed to assess your child’s strengths and challenges then development strategies for short and long term success. My goal is to provide a comprehensive family-center consultation that is specifically tailored to the needs of your child. All recommendations are based upon best practices and evidenced based medicine models.
