Shaykh Nurjan Mirahmadi ,The Naqshbandi Islamic Center is one of the most distinguished and respected schools of esoteric Knowledges. The Naqshbandi Nazimiyya Center and SMC, known as SMC, is an organization specialized in The Messenger of Allah (S) said, “One who proceeds on a path in the pursuit of knowledge, God makes him proceed therewith on a path to the Garden (Paradise). And, verily, the angels spread their wings for the seekers of knowledge out of delight. Verily, every creature of the heaven and the earth asks forgiveness for the seeker of knowledge, even the fish in the sea. The merit of the ‘alim (the learned) over the ‘abid (the devout) is like the merit of the moon over the stars on a full-moon night.

Description

For over 20 years, Shaykh Nurjan has dedicated his life to spreading the true Islamic teachings of love, acceptance, respect and peace. Over the past eight years, Shaykh Nurjan has founded numerous educational and charitable organizations. In the Greater Vancouver region alone, he has established the following: Ahle Sunnah wal Jama of BC – this organization is a resource for authentic content, books, and articles from the Quran & Sunnah from around the world. It works in collaboration with the well-known international organizations, Al Azhar University of Cairo, Dar al Ifta of Egypt and Islamic Supreme Council of North America. Hub e Rasul ﷺ Conference – monthly Milad & Mehfil-e-Zikr events are organized and are currently being held at the Fiji Islamic Center. The aim is to revive the teachings of the Quran and Sunnah by celebrating holy events in true Islamic spirit (Isra wal Miraj, Laylatul Bara, Laylatul Qadr, Milad un-Nabi etc.) Naqshbandi Islamic Centre of Vancouver – this Centre is a place for people of all faiths and beliefs to attend weekly zikr programs (circles of remembrance) three times a week (Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays). Shaykh Nurjan teaches above and beyond the principles of Islam including the deep realities of maqam al-iman (belief) and maqam al-ihsan (excellence of character). SMC – an outreach organization that spreads teachings to the Western audience including concepts such as meditation, charity, and reaches out to other faiths to increase peace, love, and acceptance in the interfaith environment. Simply Iman Cloud University – an international online platform allowing people from around the world to pursue studies in various aspects of faith and spirituality from a classical Islamic perspective. Students have the opportunity to learn at their own pace and engage in an open dialogue with a teacher in real-time. Fatima Zahraa Helping Hand – this charity organization runs a food program every two weeks which feeds more than 500 less fortunate people in the downtown eastside of Vancouver. It also collects clothing and non-perishable food items for the BC Muslim Food Bank and the Burnaby Homeless Shelter. Shaykh Nurjan has also established an international presence through many social media outlets including, FaceBook (Shaykh Nurjan Mirahmadi) with over a quarter million likes, YouTube Channel (NurMir) with over 300 videos, and a comprehensive website, NurMuhammad.com, containing many resources covering the deep realities of classical Islam. Shaykh Nurjan's sincere mission is to spread the love of Sayedena Muhammad ﷺ throughout the city for our families and children. Thus, Center works with individuals in a group setting to build self-awareness first, which in turn leads to the pursuit of moral excellence. This is done largely through classes and gatherings via traditional teaching circles (halaqas), webcasts and publications. SMC Naqshbandi Islamic Center aims to build the individual so the individual in turn feels the reciprocal responsibility of giving back to the world at-large. This age-old methodology of teaching is prevalent in classical Islamic texts and was the basis for building responsible civic societies. SMC Naqshbandi Islamic Center aims to be a resource for both Muslim individuals and organizations in Canada to receive legal advice from scholars and religious institutions throughout the world on issues that arise as Islamic traditions come into contact with Canadian culture.
