Durham College’s Aboriginal Student Centre embraces teachings from all First Nations, Metis and Inuit peoples. We strive to recognize and support students through various activities and teachings with the assistance of Elders from all backgrounds. Anishnawbe Elders teach us that the Medicine Wheel is the most important and powerful healing tool ever known to man. The Aboriginal Student Centre uses this powerful symbol to: •Help foster spirituality and strong self-esteem; •Respect for self and others; •Co-operative group learning; and •Team effort.
