Hi, just thought id start a page for what I services I have been providing here in Melbourne for the past 18 months. I have been repairing, servicing and modifying Technics SL1200/1210s for close to 14 years now, my approach is to set them up for Djing and for gigging and reflected in the mods that I do like eliminate the ground wire, longer RCA's for modern DJ booths where you may want the CDJ's on the inside close to the mixer aswell as being able to connect a Traktor Box or Serato Box with ease, removing the click and quartz locking as this point is a pain to beat-match around however some Hip-hop DJ's like it for a reference point. I carry a majority of spare new and s/hand parts for Technics SL1200mk2 variants, these turntables stopped production almost 3 years ago and most local Australian spare parts suppliers have been exhausted. Before this I could order parts and have them 2 days later however now for a fast turnaround on servicing turntables I now keep spares on hand and I source NOS parts from overseas. I have also done a few custom sets where I strip down the turntable and get the top powdercoated, strip the tonearm assembly and respray it and give the turntable a new lease of life. I have also seen some shotty jobs done on turntables while I have been in Melbourne, things like so called “upgrading” the RCA's but leaving out parts in the tonearm assembly and causing the tonearm height adjustment not able to be setup correctly aswell as damaging the PCB internally. So when i service Technics is I remove ground wire and internally ground them, i install new 2.5 meter OFC RCA's, i can install blue or white Led's into the strobe, the 33 and 45 buttons and the pop up light, remove the pitch click and quartz locking and calibrate the pitch aswell as clean the contacts in the tonearm. I have not had an unhappy customer yet and have always had great feedback, I take care and pride in my workmanship and guarantee it.
