Our Services At Teneriffe Family Doctors all our doctors are vocationally registered and continue to update their clinical skills and knowledge regularly. They aim to provide the highest comprehensive care to their patients regardless of age, sex, or culture. Should you require an interpreter service during your consultation, please let our friendly reception staff know, and they will organise this before you see the doctor. We can provide the following services: General Medicine Immunisations Family Planning Travel Advice and vaccination Counselling Health Assessments Medicals (including Dive & Aviation) Minor Surgery Vasectomies Skin checks and cryotherapy Implanon insertion (Dr Paul Paterson) Wound care Antenatal share care Allied Health Services – please phone reception for an appointment Referrals As referrals cannot be backdated, please ensure you have an up to date referral prior to your specialist appointment. A new referral to your specialist is generally required every 12 months and can be obtained through an appointment with one of our general practitioners. Failure to have a valid referral will result in you losing the Medicare rebate entitlement for the specialist appointment. Repeat Pathology Requests & Scripts If you require a repeat pathology form or a repeat script this may incur an $10 administration fee. A consultation is required for repeat prescriptions unless previously discussed with the Doctor. e.g. when your 6 month script runs out, you are often due for a blood pressure check. If the doctor doesn't require you to come in then there may be an $10 charge for this script. Any script requests not requiring a consultation will be filled within a 24 hour timeframe from the time of request. Reminders We have a reminder system for important health issues e.g. pap smears, immunisation etc. Please let the doctor know if you would like to be included in this system. WorkCover Initial WorkCover consults will be billed directly to WorkCover. WorkCover will issue you (generally via text) a claim number within a few days of your initial consult, please let us know what this claim number is asap so any further consults/treatment can be directly billed to WorkCover also.
