292 RCACS is a Canadian youth organization dedicated to developing leadership, citizenship, physical fitness, and an interest in the Canadian Armed Forces. The program is for youth ages 12-18. We parade on Monday night from 1830hrs to 2130hrs (6:30-9:30 PM), September to June, at the Halifax Armoury. During the training year, cadets receive training in areas such as: -Drill -Leadership -Citizenship -Community Service -Physical Fitness & Healthy Lifestyle -Marksmanship -Aviation -Aviation Technology -Aerospace -Aircrew Survival -Instruction -Military History & Traditions In addition to the training provided through the mandatory training program, we also offer optional activities throughout the week, including: -Drill Team -Rifle Drill Team -Military Band -Pipe & Drums Band -Sports Nights -Biathlon -Range -Flying Training -Duke of Edinburgh Finally, the cadet program also offers the opportunity to attend summer training and various training centres across Canada. These courses range from 2-6 weeks in length, and provide cadets with the opportunity to receive training in a specialty (including the chance to receive their pilot's license).
