3rd Canadian Division Support Base Edmonton is comprised of a number of major sites in the Edmonton capital region. The main site is named Steele Barracks ...after Sir Samuel Steele, an original founding member of the Northwest Mounted Police. It covers 2,550 hectares of land situated in Sturgeon County on the northeast border of the City of Edmonton. Jefferson Armouries, named after Brigadier James Currie Jefferson, the Commanding Officer of the Loyal Edmonton Regiment during the Second World War, is located on the north side of Edmonton and is home to the Loyal Edmonton Regiment, B Squadron South Alberta Light Horse, 15 Field Ambulance, the Cadet Instructor Cadre School and 6 Intelligence Company. Debney Armouries, named after Lieutenant-Colonel Philip Debney, the Commanding Officer of 8 Field Engineer Regiment during the Second World War, is located on the south side of Edmonton and is home to 20 Field Regiment (RCA), 15 Service Battalion and 8 Field Engineer Regiment. Her Majesty′s Canadian Ship Nonsuch is a naval reserve unit located on Kingsway Avenue. In addition, a number of transmitter-receiver sites are located throughout the Edmonton capital region. ----------- La base de soutien de la 3e Division du Canada est répartie sur plusieurs sites dans la région d’Edmonton. Le site principal abrite la caserne Steele, nommée ainsi en hommage à Sir Samuel Steele, l’un des fondateurs de la police montée du Nord-Ouest. La caserne occupe un terrain de 2 550 hectares situé dans le comté de Sturgeon à la limite nord-est d’Edmonton. Le manège militaire Jefferson, nommé en l’honneur du Brigadier James Currie Jefferson, le commandant du Loyal Edmonton Regiment pendant la Deuxième Guerre mondiale, se trouve dans la partie Nord d’Edmonton. C’est là que se trouvent le Loyal Edmonton Regiment, l’Escadron B, South Alberta Light Horse (RCAC), la 15e Ambulance de campagne, l’école du Cadre des instructeurs des cadets et la 6e Compagnie du renseignement. Le manège militaire Debney, nommé en l’honneur du Lieutenant-colonel Philip Debney, le commandant du 8e Régiment du génie pendant la Deuxième Guerre mondiale, se trouve dans la partie Sud d’Edmonton. C’est la base d’attache du 20e Régiment d’artillerie de campagne (ARC), du 15e Bataillon des services et du 8e Régiment du génie. Le navire canadien de Sa Majesté Nonsuch est une unité de la Réserve navale qui se trouve avenue Kingsway. De plus, il y a dans la région d’Edmonton un certain nombre de sites où sont installés des émetteurs-récepteurs
