The Examiner Newspaper is Australia's third-oldest surviving daily newspaper after the Sydney Morning Herald and the Geelong Advertiser. As The Launceston Examiner, Commercial and Agricultural Advertiser, it was first published on Saturday, March 12, 1842. In 1857, The Examiner moved to purpose-built offices in Paterson Street, Launceston. On May 25, 2015, The Examiner moved to its current home at Cimitiere House in Launceston.
