Welcome to the LivingRoom! A safe place where you can express yourself & connect with others through experiences of free art making and dialogue! The LivingRoom is a registered non-profit that provides people from all walks of life with a safe space to make & share art for free in the service of community development and well being. We're a proud member of the Art Hive movement - arthives.org - that believes everyone is an artist, and that positive change occurs in communities that create together. The LivingRoom holds PWYC workshops, books special events, and has a one-of-a-kind Art Shop where community members can sell work on consignment. All proceeds from sales of art, workshops, and event bookings go towards supporting the LivingRoom project. The LivingRoom also wishes to recognize the financial support of The Ontario Trillium Foundation, the City of Oshawa, and donors like you for helping us bring more art to more members of the community!

The LivingRoom is a registered non profit organization that provides people living in central Oshawa with opportunities to express themselves and connect with others through experiences of art making, skill sharing and dialogue at NO or Low Cost to themselves. We believe that EVERYONE is an artist, and welcome people from all walks of life, including those who are most marginalized, to take part in creative processes that we believe to be inherently therapeutic and empowering. The LivingRoom Community Art Studio is a part of North Americas growing Art Hive movement. To learn more about this larger community we are a part of please visit www.arthives.org We have a store front studio location in downtown Oshawa where people from all walks of life are welcome to drop by and make and share their art for free. Members of the community can walk in, choose from a wide range of traditional and non-traditional art materials (many of which are donated by the public) and make art that matters to them for free. We also offer: creative workshops at low or no cost for community members to teach and take part in; a LivingRoom Consignment Art Shop where people can buy one-of-a-kind community made art & handicraft at affordable prices. We are also open to tabling at community events for organizations around Durham region - and love sharing what the studio project is about with others through talks and pop-up art studios. Our mission is to build self esteem, strengthen relationships and inspire community driven action through providing a safe space for creative social interaction to occur. We are working to establish a storefront location where people can come to express themselves and connect with others through experiences of art making, skill sharing and dialogue for NO or Low-Cost. At The LivingRoom we believe that EVERYONE is an artist and that when we make art together we change our world for the better, one creation at a time. Until we have our studio home feel free to join us at our various pop-up LivingRoom studio groups and events in and around Oshawa!
