A volunteer-driven charitable organization, the Lung Association of Nova Scotia improves quality of life by controlling and preventing lung disease through research, advocacy, patient services and education. From our main office in Halifax, we serve Nova Scotians with lung disease through help from our generous donors. We are 100% donor funded, and recieve no base or on-going support from government. All funds raised by Your Lung Association stay in Nova Scotia to serve the people of our community. Our focus is simple: offer the best programs and services in lung disease, advocate for better lung health research and spend donations from our generous supporters in areas that directly help Nova Scotians breathe easier. Monday - Friday -> 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Closed for Christmas Holidays from December 23, 2013 - January 2, 2014.
The Lung Association of Nova Scotia was established in the early 1900's to control the spread of tuberculosis and to prevent this once deadly disease, which was the number one killer of Canadians. With over 100 years of service to the community, the Lung Association of Nova Scotia continues to directly help people who live with lung disease. We offer a variety of lung health programs and services including Chronic and Infectious Disease, Tobacco Control and Environment.

Bide Awhile *A Humane Shelter For Lost & Homeless Animals* www.bideawhile.org The very heart of Bide Awhile comes from the respect we have for our animal friends, and the value we put on our relationships with them. We believe that both human and animal lives are enhanced when they come together and because of this, we work hard to place animals in loving home environments. Because we believe in creating a humane community, we strive to educate the public about many topics, including pet ownership, the importance of spaying and neutering, and other animal issues.
